1) Add all the numbers in the given set together.
2) Count up how many numbers are in the set (or which you have just added.)
3) Divide the sum from Step One by the amount of numbers in the set. The quotient will be your mean.
Here is an example:
1) Find the mean of this set: 1, 2, 5, 10. Show your work.
1+2+5+12=20
20/4= 5
5 is the mean.
A second example that's a word problem:
2) Mark's school year is nearly ending. He has a collection of all his tests in Math, and wants to know his Math average early. The scores seen are the following: 90, 98, 80, 89, 100, 100, 95, 96, 85. Find the average of Mark's tests. Show your work.
90+98+80+89+100+100+95+96+85= 833
833/9=92.5 with the 5 repeating (shown by a bar over the 5 or as 5/9)
This means that the mean can be shown as exact as 92.5 with the five repeating or 92 5/9. If you can round, then it would round up to 93.
times two
It does not mean anything at all. "Twice a number" is only one number while "the difference" must refer to two numbers, not just one.
1,2,7,10,10
Even Numbers mean that they are like not odd and are in the 2 times tables. An even number can be evenly divided by 2.
'twice' is an English word for 'two times'. NB The English vocabulary is very large, and has a word for each situation.. You use the least words possible. So you use 'twice' ( one word) , instead of 'two times';(two words). Similarly, 'thrice' and 'three times'.
You add up all the numbers that they give you. It makes no differenceif some of the numbers happen to be equal to others.
times two
twice a number means a number times 2
Two refers to the quantity of 2. Example: I have two apples. Twice means "two times" which refers to both multiplication and two occurrences. For example: I have twice (two times) the amount of clothes than my sister. OR I went to the mall twice (two times) today.
3 times. Just like "twice" would mean two times, "thrice" can mean 3 times.
double something
Add up the numbers, and then divide by the number of numbers in the set. This will give you the mean.
F u times 2 means f*** you times twice
Twice in Math would mean the same as it would anywhere elses. It would mean to do something two times.
It means: 2 times 6 = 12
The mean times three will be the total of all three numbers. Multiply the mean times three and subtract the sum of the two numbers from that total.
It does not mean anything at all. "Twice a number" is only one number while "the difference" must refer to two numbers, not just one.
