go to the 7 then count 6 of the little lines. 6/16ths
Here is an alternate method that will work if your ruler happens not to mark 16ths. Make sure that you are using a ruler that measures inches and feet. A stick that measures in the metric system will not work well. 7 3/8 will be between the 7 inch and the 8 inch points. The "eighths" part means that you are looking for the marks that divide that inch into eight equal lengths. There will be 3 such marks or lines in between the 7 and the half inch mark which you should be able to find with no trouble. There are three more 'eighths' marks between the half inch mark and the 8. The "3" part means that you start at the 7 point on the ruler and count three of the marks that divide the inch into eighths. You will also see (or you are making an error of some kind) that if you count 4 eighths from the 7 point, you will be exactly at the half inch mark between the 7 and the 8. That only makes sense; 4 eighths is half of 8 eighths. And 8 eighths is one full unit-- in this case, one full inch.
Look at a ruler and you'll find out.
13/16 is between 3/4 and 7/8
3/8 + 7/8 is 1 1/4.
HOW THIS IS THREE-EIGHTHS
You haven't said what the 7 eighths are 7 eighths of, and that's going to make all the difference in the answer. -- If it's 7 eighths of a millimeter, then there are 7 eighths of a millimeter in it. -- If it's 7 eighths of an inch, then there are 22.225 millimeters in it. -- If it's 7 eighths of a foot, then 266.7 millimeters. -- If 7 eighths of a meter, then 875 millimeters. -- If 7 eighths of a mile, then 1,408,176 millimeters. -- If 7 eighths of a day, or 7 eighths of a pound, or just plain 7 eighths with no unit, then none.

13/16 is between 3/4 and 7/8
One eighth more than 7 and 1/2.
It is between 1.3 and 1.4: nearer to 1.4. It is 1 3/8 if your ruler has markings in eighths.
4/8 or 1/2
3/8 + 7/8 is 1 1/4.
3 eighths Hope that helped!
HOW THIS IS THREE-EIGHTHS
3 and 15 sixteenths
One Third = 1/3 Of (*) Seven Eighths = 7/8 Therefore 1/3 * 7/8 = 7/24

three and seven eighths in a decimal = 3.8753 7/8= 3 + (7 ÷ 8)= 3 + 0.875= 3.875
