∙ 11y agoThere is several factors that must be considered. First the mobile van is limited. Only one person can groom at a time in the van and since you are traveling from place to place, in a 10 hour period, you are limited to about 5-8 pets a day. In a salon you can build up to several groomers doing many dogs. However, in a mobile you can charge 100% more than the salon. If you charge $60 for a shihtzu in your shop, you could charge $120 or more in the mobile. In a salon you have monthly rent and utilities, in a van you have repairs and gas. I suggest researching which service your area has less of and than filling the void. You should note that only 4% of grooming clients use mobile
