If the pressure is too high, or the cartridge doesn't fit, at the best your gun will not shoot properly. At the worst it can explode and kill you. There are some chamber adapters made that will fit a specific smaller cartridge into a larger gun for emergency use, but .410 is unlikely to have adapters for any .38, because it is quite close in size. Consult a gunsmith if you are looking for such an adapter.
