The Short answer? yes. If you are a salary employee it's because you manage two or more people. Most salary contracts are on a weekly basis (Five, Six, sometimes Seven day weeks). The only way salary employees can get overtime is if they work over the agreed upon "work week". So if you're on a Five day week contract and you work Saturday you would get a prorated sixth day of pay added to your check. This is the downside to being salary. The upside is that you are usually at a higher pay scale. Lower management and people making somewhere around $1,000/week usually do not benefit from a salary if they work more than 40 hours a week. Their hourly wage essentially goes down to near-minimum wage levels if they work long hours every day.
Each day, you work 7.75 hours. You work five days a week, so multiply this by five. You work 38.75 hours per week.
In English, "Saturday" is the seventh day of the week. There is no other answer. "Friday" is the last day of the "work week", but a "work week" is only five days.
