Peter Auty is a former choirboy, he sang "Walking in the air". Auty's version was used as the theme song to the 1982 film, The Snowman.

aled Jones ,he only sang the chart hit "walking in the air" Peter Auty sang it in the film so its the original.Peter Auty sang the original in the film. The song was performed by Peter Auty,a St Paul`s Cathedral Choirboy. The film was rushed out,and he was not mentioned in the credits. He was paid the grand sum of £300 for this.Aled Jones recorded the song in 1985,and it became an instant success that it went straight to No. 1 in the charts,and everybody thought that Alad Jones sang it in the film,and Peter Auty remained anonymous.Aled jones never said anything,and lorded it for 20yrs getting TV jobs.When Peter Auty found out he wasn`t to bothered,but he said his parents were a bit miffed.To put things right the two of them will be in a documentary this Christmas on Channel 4 along with the prequel to the Snowman,and Peter Auty will be credited,and the wrong will be put right on Christmas Day.
