The Asian cultures in general, and particularly those Asians with whom you're

likely to come in contact elsewhere in the world, are closer to the old world

recollection of the value and importance of education, and far less likely to

let their kids mess around and slough off, than those who are the product

of more generations living the good and easy life in the Western world.
