The base is different. A rect. pyramid has a rectangle as a base. Because the sides are different length for a rectangle, the triangles will not all be congruent (equal).
A square pyramid has a square as the base. All sides of the square are the same length, so all the triangular sides of the pyramid will be congruent.

All the large pyramids in Egypt, Mexico, etc are all rectangular pyramids. All have a square or rectangular base and four triangular sides meeting at a point. ■
Rectangular pyramids and triangular pyramids both have triangular faces.
They are polyhedra.
A rectangular pyramid is a solid (3-dimensional) figure that comes to a point opposite the base (like the Pyramids of Egypt.) Its base is a four-sided plane figure with right angles and opposite sides equal (a rectangle--or square for that matter).

One difference is square pyramids have 4 triangular faces while rectangular prisms have none!
Yes. They are rectangular pyramids. They are square, but a square is a rectangle, by definition.
It means that it has a rectangular base rather than a square 1 :)
they are different because there bases are different
YES.........i think...maybe?
Pyramid in Egypt is one of the real example of rectangular pyramid :)
