The median is the middle number of a set. If the amount of numbers is even and the two middle numbers are not the same, then the value half way between them is the median. It is also the value when you add those two numbers and divide by 2. So if your two middle numbers were 7 and 5, the number halfway between them is 6, as is the number when you add 7 and 5 and divide by 2.
