This would of course be entirely a matter of opinion.
Perhaps it is because the easy availability of large amplifiers has made the young music buyers deaf.
Or perhaps it is something else. A young African immigrant told me one day after math class (seeing the 60s Motown I was playing) that my music "was only good for sleeping" and real music was African music or rap. Maybe. He could be right.
