∙ 11y agoThe central limit theorem states that the mean of a sufficiently large number of iterates of independent random variables, each with well-defined mean and well-defined variance, will be approximately distributed. This is the definition in the probability theory.
This is called the "commutative" property.
It is a consequence of the Central Limit Theorem (CLT). Suppose you have a large number of independent random variables. Then, provided some fairly simple conditions are met, the CLT states that their mean has a distribution which approximates the Normal distribution - the bell curve.
