Most alarm clocks of 1963 were 12 hour alarm clocks - they did not know the difference between am & pm, so you would have at most 1 hour sleep. There may have been some electronic alarm clocks of 1963 which did know about am & pm, in which case they would permit at most 13 hours of sleep.

I have never seen a wind up clock that differentiates between 9 in the morning and 9 at night. In all likelihood, your clock will go off in one hour and you will get one hour of sleep.
The domestic use of a 4ft bed is primarily to sleep on. A bed which is 4 ft in length would be comfortable only for children or adults who are quite short. Depends on what time you wanted to get up. If you went to bed at 10pm and woke up after 8 hours sleep it would be 6am. If you went to bed at 11pm and woke up after 8 hours sleep it would be 7am, etc
