Well it really depends on the outfit. Going to the mall, or to a casual lunch or dinner, I would say about 2 inches tops. But if you are going to a very nice dinner or a formal dance or party, you could pass with a 3 inch heel. It also depends on your height, if you are 5'2 then wear heels more often, but if you are 5'8 then be careful about how high you go. Just remember, you don't want to look trampy so don't go overboard with your shoes!

Most women start wearing high heels for other reasons, such as height or looks, but over time become comfortable in them and don't feel discomfort from wearing them. I love wearing heels because it makes me feel sexier.
you can't wear heels at all. But girls still do. soo idk -_- I am able to wear only one shoe and use crutches. I always wear a four-inch heel and do very well on my crutches. I have two five-inch heels and have to be a little careful in it, but it does not detract my mobility at all. This is in direct defiance of the medical community strongly recommending against heels and crutches.
The high heels will exert more pressure per unit area (per square inch, per square centimeter, etc.), because they distribute the weight over a smaller area of contact.
