Simple Potato Battery
Select two different metal strips and one potato. Use a copper and a zinc coated metal strip. We need galvanized metal so the zinc can react.
Carefully place the metal strips into the potato.
Congratulations! You have just made a battery! Simple, yes? Now you will learn about your battery.
Now, you may be wonder, what is causing a chemical reaction? Here is the explanation:
1. the potato has a mild phosphoric acid content H3PO4
2. reduction at Cu (copper) electrode:
2H+ + 2e- -> H2 gas
3. oxidation at Zn (zinc) electrode:
Zn -> Zn++ + 2e-
The H3PO4 acid puts the hydrogen ions in solution.
Yes that's true fluorescent bulbs are better because it usess 75% less energy and works longer than a incandescent light bulb. Yes...and no. It is true that power usage decreases with fluorescent balb usage. However, one must take into account that they pollute more (i.e. mercury and other heavy metals).
It is a common practice used for any exterior bulb connection to ward off moisture and prevents corrosion.
electricity because a light bulb needs electricity
If there is a bulb, it should work.
A: HARD TO SAY because a bulb has different resistance as it warms up
You wouldn't use a potato to screw in a light bulb... if the glass in the light bulb breaks as you're removing it, you can use a potato to take the light bulb out.
The best way to remove a blub that has broken off at the base is to use a raw potato. Cut the potato in half and, with the light switch turned off, shove the raw edge of the potato onto the socket. The potato should grip the broken portion of the bulb and allow you to twist the bulb out easily. Replace the bulb as you would normally after making sure all potato residue is removed from the light socket.
yes they can most people use a potato
i think you mean potato... You can from a potato or super tomato
you cant make a potato light up but...you can make a light bulb light up with potato power.all you need is wire electric tape two potato's or lemons set it up and your good =)
One way to loosen a light bulb that is stuck in the fixture is to break the bulb. You can then use half of a potato to unscrew the bulb from the fixture. You can also make a loop with duct tape, adhere the middle of the loop to the light bulb. Use the two ends to twist the bulb out of the fixture.
The potato lamp works because the acid in the potato lights up the light bulb.
yes it can be powered by a potato:)
i would say no because the battery has a lot of energy to pass to the light bulb and not a pataoe
First, make sure the light is turned off. If the bulb is hot, let it cool down. Use a cloth or glove to grip the bulb firmly and twist it counterclockwise until it comes out of the socket. Be careful not to twist too hard or you may break the bulb.
Save your cell battery
theres no such thing as that.
