a single number cannot have a least common multiple. a least common multiple is the lowest number that 2 different numbers can mulitply in to. for example, the least common multiple of 8 and 6 is 24. this is because 24 is the lowest number that both 8 and 6 can go in to. if you meant the least common multiple of 7 and 2, then the least common multiple of 7 and 2 is 14.

The least common multiple (LCM) of two numbers is the smallest positive rational number (not zero) that is a multiple of both.

Multiples of 12 are:

12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84, 96, 108, 120, etc.

Multiples of 8 are:

72, 144, etc.

The least common multiple of 12 and 72 is the smallest one of those: 72

This cannot be properly answered because at least two numbers are required for there to be a least common multiple.
