Create a table. Pick one position or job from inside your business. Consider and list all of the requisite qualifications, skills, competencies and licences across the top of the table. List the personell who hold or might hold that position down the left column. Collect evidence to support your decision, and then assign each person a 'tick' for the competency held. The gaps form the basis of each person's individual training plan. Every business should aim to have 100% of their personnell competent 100% of the time. Some competencies are developed over time and with experience. In that case, replace the tick with a code for begginer, experienced or expert. You'll need to peform a proficiency assessment to enable this function.
