Warp speed is faster than the speed of Light. Warp 1 is the speed of light and warp 2 is 10X the warp 3 is 27X and it increases by a power of 3 for every level. At warp 5 for example you could make to the closest star Proxima Centauri 4.22 lights years away. It would take hours instead of years to get there, but the power needed to generate that kind of speed would be enormous. Warp is so fast that objects come to you through a distress in space. For generating this we would have to concentrate energy so vast to distort space time. Also known as wormhole movement explained by Einstein's law of relativity.

Warp speed is a speed that makes you move faster then the speed of light (which is impossible today, but could be possible someday). How it works is actually simple, sort of. Warp speed does not move the ship, it makes a "bubble" around the ship and then it moves the space around the ship. It expands the space in front of the ship and contracts the space behind the ship so you can make it to a location sooner. It would take losts of energy to do this though.

warp speed is super speed that traveled faster that the light spped....i mean the speed of light

Yes - within the Star Trek Universe, Warp Speed was created as a device to allow starships to travel to distant destinations within the lifetime of their human crews ( otherwise it would be impossible to use the same crew visiting many planets in many galaxies, limiting the story-telling potential of the show). In fact, the show's creator decided that even though the ships had to travel faster than light to get them to interesting locations far out in space, there should be an absolute speed limit, so that the Universe would not appear so small that all races from all planets were habitually in contact: the fear was that space would become one big backyard and that would limit story potential because nothing would be mysterious or interesting for explorers. A chart was even created by Michael Okuda the special effects and art director during pre-production of Star Trek: The Next Generation to allow writers to reference appropriate speeds and distances when writing episodes. The speed scale was slightly different between Star Trek: The Original Series and successive shows in the franchise, but basically, Warp 1 equals the speed of light and any faster speed is, therefore, Faster Than Light travel.

If you would want to go warp speed, (in Star Trek) you would first need a warp core. The warp core works by using a matter-anti-matter injection system. By putting the matter and anti-matter through a special crystal in the center, it creates a "warp bubble". The "bubble" goes around the ship and then makes faster than light travel possible. By increasing the amount of matter and anti-matter in the "flow" (that's how they refer to the matter and anti-matter being put through to the crystal) it makes the bubble move faster. Sorry if this sounds complicated! I'm a die hard trekkie! :D

Warp speed is faster than light. The exact formula for Warp has changed through the series.

Warps 1 through 9, and sometimes a bit past 9.

there is no such thing as speed OF warp, but there is warp speed; warp 1 = speed of light, warp 2 = speed of light * 2 and so on.
