It can't be a factor, common or otherwise, because factors can't be larger than the numbers they supposedly come from. 3360 is a multiple of 16 and 30, but it can't be a common multiple in this problem because it is not a multiple of 36.

There are many common multiples, but there is only one least common multiple. The LCM is 336, because 336 is the smallest number that is a multiple of all the other three.

Because no number can be the least common multiple of only 12. You need at least two number before you can have a least common multiple.
