Russian Federation - Has the Largest army in Europe. This country is the Biggest country in the World and no Single European country could Invade Russia Because it is Simply to big. Also it has the most Nuclear weopons of any European Nation

United Kingdom - Has the Worlds most Elite army and is Very Modern.

Has Nuclear Weopons and Has alot of Diplomatic backing from the USA the Commonwealth and Large parts of the world.

Republic of France - Is the third most powerful country in Europe for one reason, It has Nuclear weopons, Also Its army is Modern all round. But has lost Much favour Across the world except in Africa. Without Nuclear weopons Germany would be Gauranteed to be Third place.

Germany - Is the Richest country in Europe, Has a Modern Army, and Has proved itself Very capable during war times across history, Does not possess Nuclear weopons and has lost Much favour Across the world because of WW1 and WW2. Also spend Less money on its Military than the Other European powers above.

According to the National Power Index (a ranking system done by International Futures that ranks power by GDP, defense spending, population, and technology). The National Power Index ranks the four strongest countries in Europe as Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom and France in that order.

GERMANY - Although demilitarized due to WWII, Germany is still a powerful nation military-wise. If threatened, Germany could increase military size and spending, although not necessary because they rely on the former Allies for protection (mainly the US). Germany has the fourth largest economy in the world, and is currently the only economy keeping the EU and the Euro Zone afloat. Germany has been bailing out many EU countries, especially Greece. The European Economic Crisis has hit Germany, although not as hard as other countries due to Germany's massive exporting system keeping the German economy stable. Germany is also the second largest exporter in the world, just recently being surpassed by China. As an important member of NATO, Germany is also enrolled in the nuclear weapon sharing program, meaning they could acquire nuclear weapons if they pleased. However, the population of Germany has been decreasing since around 2003. 2011 saw a slight increase in population, although only be about 0.06%.

RUSSIA - Russia is the largest and most populous European country, but has been on the decline since the collapse of the Soviet Union, where the economy and population took deep cuts. 2011 was the first year Russia saw an increase in population since the collapse of the Soviet Union, despite it being only a 0.15% increase. Yet, Russia still has the 10th largest economy with one of the highest economic growth rates in Europe. Russia is a nuclear weapon state and has the largest number of total nuclear warheads of any country. Russia was a world power right alongside the United States after WWII. However, the Cold War was disastrous towards Russia, leading to the collapse of the Soviet Union and the loss of being a world power for Russia. Russia has somewhat adopted democracy since the fall of communism, but is highly corruptible. Despite this, many researches believe Russia will become a world power again soon, right near China.

UNITED KINGDOM - The United Kingdom is perhaps the most influential country in the world due to its former empire, the largest the world had ever seen. Still clinging on to its remnants, the UK formed the Commonwealth, a union of the former colonial possession of the UK since the end of WWI (with two additional non-former colonies). Using the Commonwealth, the UK still exerts its power worldwide. In addition, the UK and the US are each others' closest allies, two very powerful nations. The UK is also a founding member of the United Nations, of NATO, a nuclear weapon state, and was even offered the chance to be a founding member of the European Union (refused, but later joined in the first enlargement). The UK is global police force just as the US is, aiding the US in many countries against the war on terrorism, for example. The UK has not been regarded as a world power since the collapse of its empire (after WWII). The UK itself will most likely not be a world power again, however some already refer to the European Union as being a world power (which is a supranational organization and will most likely fuse into one nation in the future). The UK still holds many colonial possessions around the world and is the protector of Guernsey and Jersey.

FRANCE - France, too, is a highly influential country on a global scale. The French Colonial Empire was the eighth largest the world has ever seen. France's influence remains in its former colonies, as France is the official language in twenty-nine countries, is the first most widely learned language in the world, and is a global language on a business scale (just as English is. In fact, English and French are the only true global languages). France has the third most powerful army in Europe today and contributes to global problems, although not as much as the United Kingdom. France has the second largest economy in Europe, however, but has a medium-growing economy due to the European Economic Crisis. France has not been regarded as a global power ever since the beginning of WWII, as it was easily overtaken by Nazi Germany. It then lost its colonial empire around the same time as the UK, and was definitely not a world power since then. France is a founding member of the UN, NATO, and the European Union (in fact, the idea of the European Union was of France), as well as is a nuclear weapon state. Today, France has the second highest Birth Rate of any European country (after Ireland), and is the only other European country to have a birth rate above 2.0. In 2010, the French birthrate was exactly 2.0, the highest since 1975. Lastly, France still holds integral parts all around the world and still has many colonies.
