For the individual entries: type of source (book, website, etc.), contributors (author, editor, etc.), and date of creation. These are only a few of numerous possibilities. For specific formatting, look at different styles (MLA, for example).

For ordering your bibliographical entries: always arrange alphabetically by the first word in each entry. If multiple entries share a common first word, keep going (2nd or 3rd word) until you have a different word to order them by.

Most citations you will encounter will start with the last name of the author.
