Let the two numbers be X and Y

Given:

X*Y=75 ==> Y=75/X

X+Y=28

==> X+(75/X)=28

==> X2+75=28X

==> X2-28X+75=0

==> X2-3X-25X+75=0

==> X(X-3)-25(X-3)=0

==> (X-3)(X-25)=0

==> X1-3=0 or X2-25=0

==> X1=3 or X2=25

substitute X1=3 in X+Y=28

3+Y1=28

==>Y1=25

==>Y1=X2

hence the two numbers are 3 and 25
