Siberian Tiger (wild) 12ft9inches long, 857lbs in weight and stood a height of 3ft 9inches at the shoulder. this is normal for the siberian.

Siberian tiger (captive) 13ft long, 930lbs in weight and same height.

Bengal tiger (wild) 11ft long, 700lbs in weight and stands (like most male bengals) 3ft 6inches at the shoulder

Bengal tiger (captive) 11ft long, 800lbs in weight and same height.

African lion (wild) 10ft long, 600lbs in weight and like most lions stood 3ft 6inches at the shoulder.

African lion (captive) 11ft long 660lbs and stood a huge 112cm (3ft 7.5inches) at the shoulder. This is the tallest lion ever found.

it is quite clear then that the tiger is the larger animal in weight length and indeed height. it is also clear that captive animals grow heavier than their wild counterparts. The largest tiger ever recorded was the eleven foot, 857 pound Bengal tiger killed in 1967. This tiger is now in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC, USA.

The sizes of big cats has always been a point of contention, and most are just exaggerations. The largest cat of any species was a Bengal tiger killed in India in 1967. This was an enormous eleven foot, one inch specimen that weighed 857 pounds. This extremely heavy tiger had been preying on cattle, and had fattened up on an easy diet.

The largest lion weighed 690 pounds. The average male lion weighs between 370 - 435 pounds, with some exceptional males reaching 550.

The average male Siberian tiger weighs between 445 - 525 pounds, with exceptionally large ones reaching nearly 700 pounds.

The average male Bengal tiger weighs between 415 - 500 pounds, with exceptional ones topping 600 pounds on occasion.

Bengal tigers of northern India and Nepal seem to be somewhat heavier than those of southern regions. Many tigers of 590-650 pounds have been recorded and documented from this region.

The largest lions, however, stand somewhat taller at the shoulder than the largest tigers.

A nine and a half foot, 450 pound lion will stand 39 inches at the shoulder, while a 500 pound, ten foot Bengal tiger will be around 37 inches at the shoulder. Tigers have longer, heavier built bodies.

Other tiger subspecies are smaller, the Indo Chinese tiger averages around nine feet long and 380-430 pounds, the Malayan and South China average around 8 and a half feet in length, and weigh around 330-390 pounds. The Sumatran is the smallest, weighing between 250-300 pounds.
