In my 9 years in Juvenile Probation (Utah) I've always seen more boys than girls in detention. The ratio has varied from 2 to 1 to 10 to 1, with an average of about 4 to 1. Boys tend to commit more offences worthy of detention than girls do.

Boys generally mature a little later than girls. This means that when girls are standing around wondering if the boys are interested in being friends, all the boys are running around belching and making fart jokes, and running away from the girls. So it's just natural that girls think boys are weird.A few years later, of course, things change!A:The above answer is an urban legend, as I learned from personal experience. Not only is maturity in the eye of the beholder, I (a boy) have the misfortune of being the most mature one in my class.A:Actually, a certain chemical in the brain, makes boys mature a bit slower then girls. However, boys can be mature, or maturer then girls, as they age. Maturity can also be genetic, forced into a person, or even a quality one learns to achieve. It depends on what the boy likes, dislikes, and is like. But besides that, boys are usually a bit immature, compared to girls.A:It's not a chemical, it's just the way that the brain of a male of any species naturally functions, though it's much less notable in other animals. And it's not just boys who's brains are like this. In fact, 1/3 boys don't have that and 1/4 girls do. A : you people are all right some what but i think that boys also a bit weird because they may start to like girls and not know how to show it or dont know how to tell them , but then again im not real sure , because im a female.
2 boys for every 3 girls 8 boys / 2 boys = 4 times the original ratio 4 times original ratio x 3 girls = 12 girls
The ratio of 15 boys to 12 girls can be simplified by finding the greatest common divisor of 15 and 12, which is 3. Dividing both numbers by 3 gives us a ratio of 5 boys to 4 girls. This means for every 5 boys, there are 4 girls in the group.
The ratio is 9:12 (girls:boys)Simplified the ratio is 3:4 When there are 24 girls, there will be 32 boys. (3:4 = 24:32)
The ratio of 8 boys to 12 girls can be simplified by finding the greatest common divisor, which in this case is 4. Dividing both numbers by 4 gives us a ratio of 2 boys to 3 girls. This means for every 2 boys, there are 3 girls in the group.
The ratio is: 3 to 4
In lowest terms, it is 4 to 3.
Oh, dude, the ratio of boys to girls is like 3:1. You just divide the number of boys by the number of girls, so 12 divided by 4 equals 3. So, for every girl, there are 3 boys hanging out in the group. It's like a boy band with a few backup dancers.
190 girls
Let me use money as an example. You are familiar with US dollars and quarters? I hope so. There are 4 quarters in a dollar. The ratio of quarters to dollars is 4 to 1, written as 4:1 or 4/1. Another example: in a classroom there are 13 girls and 12 boys. The ratio of girls to boys is 13 to 12 or 13/12 or 1.083 girls for every boy. The ratio of boys to girls is 12/13 or 0.923 boys for every girl. A ratio establishes a relationship between the relative quantities of two or more variables.
If the ratio of girls to boys is 5 to 4, this means that out of every 9 students (5 girls + 4 boys), 5 are girls and 4 are boys. To find out how many girls there are in the class, you need to divide the total number of students by the total parts of the ratio (5 + 4 = 9) and then multiply that result by the girls' portion of the ratio (5/9). So, in this case, there would be (5/9) * 90 = 50 girls in the class.
3/4 times 48 = 36 girls
The ratio is 4:5
