I believe this to be a matter of opinion. It all depends on amount and clenliness of power being delivered, and a truck load of maths to make sure your enclosure is the right size, has the right ports, construction method and wadding. Then theres type of car and amount of sound deadening, and of course, what your looking for. Alphasonik aren't what they used to be, because they dropped prices to enter the mass market. They're original goal was to make quality product that was loud, but didn't sacrifice on sound quality. Kicker (having gone mainstream years ago) care mainly about making a product that doesn't break down and cause costly warranty claims. They make a good quality product that sounds good, but the higher end gear is designed for SPL competition and thus loses quality.

My personal opinion is MTX make the best woofers. They we're a boutique brand for a long time before they went mainstream and instead of sacrificing quality to bring down price they found ways of making things more efficiantly. They also make THE biggest and most powerful woofer. The Jackhammer. It's a 21" 150pound monster that needs several amps to drive it.
