Just realize you deserve someone who likes you, not someone who can't quite appreciate you. You will find that person, one day. This one wasn't just the right one. Love yourself! Just know that you shouldn't want to go out with someone that doesn't give you a chance. Plus, now you know that they're not worth liking anyway so you can get back to your life and even when you are ready start checking out other guys/girls (who might be way hotter!). Also, just asking someone out takes a lot of confidence, which you definitely have! That's great because most people don't have that and just sit around waiting for their crush to make the first move! Good luck!!!! =)
Well, you should take it easy for a few days. You should spend some time alone, go 2 the movies or shop or something! If you still are depressed after 2-3 days, u should go 2 talk w/ a parent or counselor or somebody. Remember, pain comes and goes, but happines iz always in your life if u look hard enough. :)

What are the real reasons behind the Councils rejection and fear of the gift in anthem?

In Ayn Rand's "Anthem," the Council's rejection of the gift symbolizes their fear of individualism and personal freedom. The gift represents a unique talent and the potential for self-expression, which threatens the collectivist society that prioritizes conformity and obedience. The Council fears that recognizing individual achievements could undermine their authority and disrupt the societal order, leading to chaos and the breakdown of their enforced uniformity. Thus, the rejection is rooted in a desire to maintain control and suppress any challenge to their ideology.

Why did Athena refuse to play the flute?

Athena refused to play the flute because she believed it was unseemly for a goddess to engage in such an activity, especially since it was associated with a kind of emotional expression she deemed inappropriate. Additionally, she was concerned about the distortion of her features when playing, which contradicted her ideals of beauty and wisdom. Ultimately, her rejection of the flute symbolized her commitment to intellect and strategy over emotional display.

Where is the expression don't cotton to come from?

The expression "don't cotton to" originates from the 19th-century American South, where "cotton" referred to the cotton plant, a significant crop in the region. The phrase means to not take a liking to or to not accept something. It likely derives from the idea that cotton was a staple of Southern life, and not "cottoning to" something implies a rejection of what is familiar or customary. Over time, it has evolved into a colloquial expression used more broadly in English.
