To us in real life their is no such thing, yet in the fantasy world they describe them as big wolf like humans, 4 legged and furry with speed that cannot be reached by a normal human. These fantasy creatures a regularly used in movies for e.g. The new movie New Moon.

Awesome creatures with amazing stealth and cunning. Furred and four legged, although having the ability to walk on two. Leg structure is digitigrade. They hide themselves, and with good reason. And they aren't killers like Hollywood so strongly suggests.

They look like a normal person when it's not a full moon. When it's night time and a full moon, they look like a huge werewolf.... who ever made this answer is purely stupid..

We do not usually have fur, unless we are in our third stage of transformation. We look like humans in first stage, second we have slight vulpine features, third we gain fur and more apparent vulpine features, and fourth we gain full fur and our transformation is complete (mostly, we do not speak of our final) and the vulpine features are quite distinguished. We do walk upright, but we generally run on our four paws.

The Harry Potter werewolf (in the books, not the movies), like Remus Lupin, are more like the true werewolf, turning only at the full moon, and becoming increasingly 'sick' as it approaches.

Other people say the Werewolf is actually half wolf, half human when it transforms, more like the Lupin from the Harry Potter movies, becoming slightly wolfish, but still remaining visibly human, or somewhat human.

Werewolves usually look like inbred wolves until they get to a certain age. When they get to that age they are usually mistaken as a normal wolf. That is why people usually see wolves and then the forest rangers never find them. It is in common books about legend's that a werewolf can only be shot by a sliver bullet. Part of this legend is true but not the 'bullet' part. werewolves can only be killed by a silver object either by being wounded or killed. When a werewolf has been killed it will change back into a human so try not to kill it near your house because you will have a hard time explaining that to the police!!

Also all the nonsense about Vampires being the Werewolves natural enemies is total rubbish. Vampires and Werewolves can get along fine because they are in the human world trying not to be noticed for what they are, so they both are on the same page with the human situation.

Werewolves cannot be known to exist in the human world because of all the things that people think they know but actually don't, For example - Werewolves are portrayed as flesh eating monsters but they are not. Werewolves keep their human brain so can remember everything they have done and also what is write and what is wrong (Yes they have consciences). Werewolves have usually got a big family and they all have very common first and last names like Laura Smith for example. I know of a big pack of werewolves that live near me and i know a girl who has told me all of this is a real werewolf because i have seen her change. That thwarts another myth of werewolves only changing at a full moon. She Says "If your blood is more pure, you can bring on the change whenever."
