there are 1,000 micrograms in a miligram, so to convert mg to mcg you need to multiply by 1,000 (or move the decimal 3 spots to the right) giving you 50 mcgs. To convert mcg to mg you would divide by 1,000 or move the decimal 3 spots to the left. Lester

1.5 milligrams = 1.5 * 10-3 grams.

1 microgram = 1 * 10-6 grams.

Thus 1.5 milligrams = (1.5 * 10-3) / (1 * 10-6) = 1.5 * 103 = 1500 micrograms.
