β 14y agoIf the speed/time graph slops negatively, that's an indication that the speed
is decreasing, i.e. the object is slowing down. The negative slop is also called
negative acceleration, since acceleration is the rate of change of velocity.

A graph showing zero slope for the position vs. time indicates that the object is at rest, not moving. The horizontal line on the graph represents a constant position over time, showing that the object remains stationary.

NO!!! It means that the object is decelerating(slowing down)
On a velocity time graph for an object to be stationary, it will be an horizontal line, co-linear with the x-axis (zero velocity). Time is continuous.
On a velocity time graph a positive slope is an object accelerating. An horizontal line above the x-axis , is the object is moving at constant velocity. A negative slope is the object decelerating. When the line touches the x-axis, the object is stationary. The area between the graph line and the x-axis is equivalent to the distance travelled.
NB The x-axis is the time axis and starts at the origin (0,0) hence it is deemed to be at zero velocity (stationary)

β 14y agoYes. The graph indicates that the position does not change while the time is changing - ie the object is not moving.
A steep slope in a position-time graph indicates a high velocity or speed. The steeper the slope, the faster the object is moving. Conversely, a flat slope indicates that the object is at rest.
Abduction
An downward sloping diagonal line on a position vs. time graph indicates constant negative acceleration or deceleration. This means that the object is moving in the negative direction and slowing down over time.
An object is moving if its position is changing with respect to a reference point over time. This can be observed by visually tracking the object's motion or using instruments to measure its displacement.
a high pressure system is moving into an area
No. It always indicates that the object is not accelerating.
Not necessarily. A zero slope on a velocity vs time graph indicates that the object's velocity is constant, not that it is not moving. If the velocity is zero and remains zero, then the object is not moving.
If an object stops moving, the position-time graph will show a horizontal line at the position where the object stops. This indicates that the object is at rest at that specific position, with no change in its position over time.
The graph would be a straight line with a positive slope showing a constant increase in position over time. This indicates the object is moving away from the reference point at a constant speed.
A steep slope in a position-time graph indicates a high velocity or speed. The steeper the slope, the faster the object is moving. Conversely, a flat slope indicates that the object is at rest.
Assuming position is on the y axis and time is on the x axis, a positive slope means the position has increased over time.
A solid yellow line marking always separates traffic moving in opposite directions. It indicates that passing is not allowed due to the potential for head-on collisions.
The measure between the starting and ending position of a moving object is called displacement. Displacement is a vector quantity that indicates the change in position from the initial point to the final point of an object's motion. It includes the direction and magnitude of the movement.
A slope of zero indicates that the object is not moving, or it is moving at a constant velocity without changing speed or direction. This means there is no acceleration, and the object remains at a consistent position or motion.
When something is moving or in motion, it can be changing position and direction. However, the object does not have to be doing both at the same time.
