Nope, a kilometer is 1,000 meters

There are 100 centimeters in a meter

There are 100,000 centimeters in a kilometer

Both units measure distance in the metric system. However, as you can see by the explanation above, a centimeter is only a small fraction of a kilometer.

No, they are different.

centi- stands for 1/100th while milli- stands for 1/1000th

So you need 100 centimeters to fill a meter

you need 1000 millimeters to fill a meter.

One centimeter is exactly 10 times larger than a millimeter, so 10 millimeter will fit into a centimeter.

For me it's easy to remember because I've grown up using metric, but it's also helpful to have a ruler that has lines indicating millimeters between the centimeters (and inches on the other side of the ruler for comparison).

No, kilometers and centimeters are not the same. Kilometers are a unit of distance equal to 1000 meters, whereas centimeters are a unit of length equal to one hundredth of a meter.
