The earth has seasons mainly because of the tilt to the earth towards or away from the sun. Contrary to popular belief, the distance from the sun caused by Earth's elliptical orbit only makes a minuscule difference in climate.

∙ 14y agoCopernicus's sun centered model was a model made after Copernicus studied the sky. A man named Claudius Ptolemy made a Earth centered model where everything revolved around the Earth. Copernicus disagreed with his conclusion so he studied hard. He finally made the sun centered model where planets revolved around the sun and and the planet's moons revolved around that planet.
