How do you wire 4 high hats with 3 way switches at the end power coming into the lights then to the switches?

I reviewed the diagram referenced above and it is good. But it only shows the wiring for 1 fixture. If you have 4 (and I don't know what a 'high hat' is) and depending on which fixture is fed with the hot feed, you may need 4 or even 5 wires between fixtures. The reasoning can be very complicated to follow but I will try to explain.

Taking the diagram as is and considering the switch on the left as the one that is fed hot and the switch on the right as the one with the switch leg, any fixtures that are between the fixture with the hot feed and the switch on the left will need 5 wires. This is because besides doing the wiring as in the diagram, you will need a neutral and a switch leg fed to those fixtures.

With the same assumptions as stated above, any fixtures that are between the fixture with the hot feed and the switch on the right will need 4 wires. The fourth wire is the neutral. Those fixtures will already have the switch leg if all your wires for this circuit go through each fixture box without bypassing.

Please note that I have made mention of "the fixture with the hot feed" and the switch that is "fed hot." Don't confuse these phrases and you will do ok. The other term that I have used that is critical is the switch "with the switch leg." Keep these three terms straight in your head and you will do fine.

This is a complicated wiring scenario that confuses even experienced electricians. I have attempted to explain how to do it as clearly as possible but you must be careful. Depending on how things are wired you may have more than one wire of the same color coming through a box. The hot wire, neutral, travelers, and switch leg must be kept distinct from one another or you have a serious trouble-shooting situation when you turn the power on. Electricians sometimes make money fixing situations like this when someone didn't know what they were doing.

You will need to run power from the source to the first light, then connect a 3-wire cable to each subsequent light to create a parallel circuit. From the last light, run a 2-wire cable to the 3-way switch. Connect the common terminal of the first switch to the power source, then connect the travelers between the two switches. Finally, connect the common terminal of the second switch to the lights.
