1 cup equals 8 oz and you need 8 cups which equals 64 oz of green beans, so to get 64oz you would need a total of 5 cans. Four cans will yield 58 oz and 3/4 of a cup from the 5th can will give you 64 oz of beans. (the math part is 8x8=64, 14.5x4=58, 64-58=6)

The cans are 14.5 oz in weight, not volume. My can says it has 3.5 servings at 1/2 cup (volume!) per serving. So 1.75 cups per can.

8/1.75 = 4.5 cans. So 5 cans of green beans to make that double batch of green bean casserole.

The current answer is correct, but only because green beans weigh roughly 1/2lb per cup. If they were denser (or fluffier) the math drifts.

To convert ounces to cups, you need to know the density of the substance. In this case, for green beans, 14.5 oz is approximately equal to 2 cups. Therefore, to get 8 cups of green beans, you would need 4 cans of 14.5 oz each.

Well honey, if you want 8 cups of green beans, you're gonna need about 5 cans of those 14.5 oz babies. Just pop 'em open, drain 'em, and get ready to cook up a storm. Just remember, you can never have too many green beans...or cans of 'em!

Well, isn't that just a happy little question! If you have a 14.5 oz can of green beans, it usually holds about 1.5 cups of beans. So, to get 8 cups, you would need around 5 and a third cans of green beans. Just imagine all the delicious green beans you could have in your recipe!

Approximately five 14.5 oz cans of green beans would equal 8 cups. Each 14.5 oz can typically contains about 1.5 cups of green beans, so to reach 8 cups you would need around five cans.
