The micro- prefix means one millionth (1/1000000 or 0.000001)

The centi- prefix means one hundredth (1/100 or 0.01)

→ 1 cm ÷ 1 µm = 1/100 m ÷ 1/1000000 m = 1/100 m × 1000000/1 m = 1000000/100 = 1000000 ÷ 100 = 10000
