varies with substance: 1cc of pure water =1g Every substance has its own 'specific gravity' (density)

The specific gravity is the ratio of the weight of given volume of a fuel to the weight of an equal

volume of distilled water. eg 550 cc of pure water = 550g (o.55kg) aviation fuels have a specific gravity of around 0.88g for the same given volume. so.. 550cc of aviation fuel would be 550g (0.55kg) x 0.88 = 484g (0.484kg)

Its like comparing a box full of bricks and the same box full of feathers.

Well, water weighs 1g/ml. So the approximate weight of 52 gal (196.84 L) would be 196.86 kg or 434 lbs. I'm not sure how much weight the salt would add, and the exact amount would depend upon how much salt is there, but the weight would not change much from the pure water weight.

One gallon of saline water weighs around 8.34 pounds. Therefore, 52 gallons of saline water would weigh approximately 434.68 pounds.
