There are two methods of fastening an outlet box to a concrete wall. One is with a power activated tool like a Ramset or a Hilti gun. These use cartridges that shoot a threaded pin into the concrete and then the box is bolted on to the pin.

The second method is drilling a hole in the wall with a carbide drill bit. This tool is also made by Hilti. Once the hole is drilled into the wall, a plastic or lead anchor is installed by hammering it into the hole. When the anchor is flush with the wall face, the junction box is put into place and a pan head screw is used to fasten the box to the concrete wall.
