10 cups and 5 pints are the same amount. Being that there are 2 cups in every pint, and 2 pints in every quart, and 4 quarts in every gallon... once you count the cups it's simple. Think of a "G"; for gallon, with 4 "Q's; for quarts inside of it, then 2 "P's" in every Q; for pint, then 2 "C's" in every P for cups. That is a very easy way to remember simple capacity.
