When instead of measuring the specific thing directly you measure some other aspect of the event and from that figure out the actual value. Ex. Lets say that you need to find out the height of a tower, but that you can not measure it from top to bottom with a measuring tape. You can measure the shadow on the ground and with knowledge of the suns position and the angle of the shadow calculate the height of the tower.

Indirect measurement is a method of measuring objects or quantities that are not directly accessible or easily measured. It is useful when direct measurement is impractical or impossible, such as in situations where physical contact is not possible. Indirect measurement involves using other known measurements or properties to estimate the desired quantity.

Indirect measurement is a technique that uses proportions to find a measurement when direct measurement is not possible.

or taking a small piece of the whole finding the volume or mass of the piece and if you know the mass or volume of the whole you divide the whole m/v by the piece m/v. and dont for get if you have a container of some thing then find the m/v of the empty container and subtract it from the whole m/v before dividing.

Indirect measurements are useful when it is not possible to measure the object for some reason. Scientists use indirect measurements when the measure the temperature of a flame my measuring the wavelength of the light being given off and calculating the temperature from a formula using that wavelength. The energy of electrons in atoms can only be measured using indirect means.

When is the indirect method appropriate and what are the benefits of using it?

Indirect measurement is a technique that uses proportions to find a measurement when direct measurement is not possible.

What is an indirect measure and why are such measures common in software metric works?

Indirect measurement is a measurement that is not obtained from a measurement tool; it is a technique that obtains a measurement when direct measurement is not possible. In software metrics work, indirect measures associate a measure to a feature of the object being measured. An example is basing quality on counting rejects. Indirect measures include functionality, quality, complexity, efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.

An indirect measurement of the speed of molecules is?

The temperature.

Temperature is an indirect measurement of?

The speed of molecules.

What is the difference between direct and indirect measurement?

Direct is an exact measurement and indirect is an estimate.

What did Thales discovery?

Thales discovered the indirect measurement formula.

When is appropriate to use an indirect method of measurement?

Indirect methods of measurement are appropriate when direct measurement is not feasible or accurate enough. This can be due to limitations in accessing the object being measured or restrictions in using conventional measuring tools. Indirect methods are often used in scientific research or in situations where precision is less critical.

Why are units of measurement useful?

Units of measurement provide a standard to measure mass, length etc.So, it is useful.

What are limitations of the calculated and indirect volume measurement?

The limitations of the calculated and indirect volume measurement is that its use is limited. It cannot be used in cases whereby a given object is soluble in water or absorbs water.

What is example of indirect measurement?

-thermometer -measuring the speed of the car "radar"

An indirect measurement of the speed of molecules is made with a?

An indirect measurement of the speed of molecules can be made using techniques such as Doppler spectroscopy or light scattering. These methods analyze the behavior of light as it interacts with the molecules to determine their speed indirectly. By studying the changes in the properties of the light, scientists can infer the motion and speed of the molecules.
