Math is used in Paleontology to estimate the weights of prehistoric organisms. In some cases where a complete skeleton is lacking, it is even used to estimate the length and/or height of an animal.

It's used in attempts to understand how prehistoric animals moved. Equally importantly, math is used to determine the ages of fossils by comparing the amounts of various isotopes (especially carbon-14) in a rock or fossil.

Math is used to estimate many other things about extinct animals and their physiology, too, including the bite force of Tyrannosaurus Rex, whether huge pterosaurs like Quetzalcoatlus could fly, if Hydrocephalus could ram each other head on, the motive speeds of many prehistoric animals, and much more.
