A Joule is a unit of work and a newton is a unit of force. Work is a force thru a distance.

One joule is the work done, or energy expended, by a force of one newton moving one meter along the direction of the force.

There can be no equivalence.

A Newton is a measure of force while a Joule is a measure of energy. The two measure different things and, according to basic principles of dimensional analysis, any attempt at conversion from one to the other is fundamentally flawed.

One newton is equivalent to one joule per meter. This means that when a force of one newton is exerted over a distance of one meter, the work done is one joule.
