I recall reading an article as a teenager about a deer shot in Anson, Maine in the 1950's weighing in at over 400 lbs and noted as the world record for largest whitetail. Don't hold me to it though, since I'm unable to verify in a search, but the length of nose tip to rear hooves of over 11 feet sticks in my mind also.
Antlerwise, the Beatty buck is the world record, for bow. The gun record is slightly bigger, i cant recall the name of the deer, but a young kid shot it.
