Do a ton of quests... and in between quests, do BGs...

The best to lvl on are Alterac Valley and Arathi Basin....

Also the quests of Wow are always:

Kill x bring me y

Gather x

or

Talk to x

So while your getting Exp. from kills, you also lvl from the extra Exp. from quest rewards.

I've also found that running dungeons is an excellent way to get large amounts of money and xp at the same time.

The best thing would be to find a good guild, then get together a dungeon group and just run as many as you can in a row. Be sure to get a group of people who can run a large number, or you will have to be at the mercy of the random dungeon system.

The fastest way to level up is to kill mobs that are close to or slightly above your level while you do quests. That way you get experience from killing mobs and experience from when you hand the quest back in after completing it.

If you have a high level alt, consider purchasing at least one piece of BoA gear for your low level character. Two pieces and the trinkets and weapons would be better, but one piece will do for the 10% boost in experience from quests and mobs.

There are multiple ways to level from 79-80.

1. PvP with Quest - Do Pvping, and while queueing for the battleground, do quests in Icecrown or Storm Peaks. This gives you a lot of honor which will let you get better gear faster once you hit 80. It also gives you reputation which can lead to getting special mounts and gear.

Get a character up to 80 and then just do random heroic dungeons.

It is a lot harder to get heirlooms now due to the new currency: Justice Points. You now need 2000+ Justice Points in order to purchase a heirlooms. In this case, you would need to level to 85 and do dungeons/heroics. You can earn a lot of Justice Points this way.
