Male African elephants stand at around 10 to 13 feet tall at their shoulder and weigh between 10000 to 13000 pounds. Female African elephants stand at around 7.2 to 8.5 feet tall at their shoulder and weigh between 4500 to 7000 pounds. Their Asian counterparts are around 1 - 2 feet shorter than them and weigh a few thousand pounds lesser than them.

Sadly no longer with us, unless someone develops cloning, has a stack of amber with large elephant gorged blood sucking insects trapped inside, and a deserted island, a large elephantwith thick hair is a woolly mammoth.

(Mammuthus primigenius), also called the tundra mammoth, is an extinct species of mammoth. This animal is known from bones and frozen carcasses from northern North America and northern Eurasia with the best preserved carcasses in Siberia.

It could, of course, be a normal elephant that has run havoc in a glue factory and attempted to hide out the back in a barber's shop in the bin. But this is very unlikely.
