Go to the US Energy Department's website (energy.gov) and click on "prices and trends". This will take you to a page with a link to the Energy Information Administaration website. On that website look on the right side for "latest market updates". Under that you will see heating oil and propane update. On that page you will see "more price data" on the right-hand side with two subcategories: Heating Oil and Propane. You want to look at Residential prices for the latest price. It's tracked weekly and by Region and state. You should always check this price before ordering propane (unless you are on a fixed-rate plan or something) so that the propane dealer doesn't over charge you.
