∙ 13y agoIf the GFCI outlet still has power after the neutral wire is disconnected, it may be miswired causing the hot and neutral to be reversed. This could result in the appliance working without the neutral. It's important to have an electrician inspect and correct the wiring to ensure safety and proper functioning.
No, it is not possible to connect a 3-phase 440 V system without a neutral line to a machine that requires a 3-phase 4-wire connection with a neutral line. The neutral line must be present in both systems for proper operation and safety. Trying to connect them without the neutral line could cause damage to the machine and pose a safety hazard.

No, an electromechanical energy meter requires both the line and neutral wires to accurately measure electricity consumption. The neutral wire completes the circuit and allows the meter to measure the flow of electricity passing through it. Without the neutral wire, the meter will not function properly.
