The probability density cannot be greater than 100% because nothing exists with a higher probability, except colloquially. We can say that we have a 110% certainty of something but that is only meant to express how certain we are. Because in reality nothing can be more than 100% in terms of probability density.

The probability density in an orbital cannot be equal to 100 percent because an electron exhibits wave-like behavior in quantum mechanics, meaning it does not have a definite position. Instead, the probability density provides the likelihood of finding an electron in a particular region of space within the orbital. Having a probability density of 100 percent would imply that the electron's position is known precisely, which contradicts the principles of quantum mechanics.

What are the traits of a probability density function?

Can probability be expressed as a percent?

Yes, probability can be expressed as a percent. It is common to express probabilities as a percentage, which is calculated by multiplying the probability by 100. For example, if the probability of an event is 0.25, it can also be expressed as 25%.

In an s orbital the probability of finding an electron a particular distance from the nucleus does NOT depend on?

In an s orbital, the probability of finding an electron at a particular distance from the nucleus does not depend on the direction in which the distance is measured or the orientation of the orbital. This is because s orbitals are spherically symmetric, meaning the electron has an equal likelihood of being found at any distance from the nucleus in all directions.

Does volume percent equal w percent?

No. Only if the two components have the same density (specific gravity), which is highly unlikely.
