∙ 8y agoThe numbering systems for longitude and latitude are simply different expressions of a circle. Without these intersecting lines, there would be no way to precisely position any location on the globe.
Longitude measures distance east and west of the Prime Meridian -- 0 degrees, the line that essentially 'separates the Earth into two halves', except that its continuation -- the International Date Line -- 180 degrees, isn't straight, for political reasons.
Latitude measures distance north and south of the Equator -- 0 degrees, which indeed 'separates the Earth into two halves'.
Combining longitude and latitude, you can, indeed, find any location on our planet.

∙ 8y agoLines of longitude converge at the poles, which causes them to form half circles that meet at the North and South Poles. In contrast, lines of latitude are parallel to the Equator and circle the Earth fully because the circumference of the Earth remains the same as you move north or south from the Equator.
At 46.5° latitude, one degree of latitude is approximately 68.71 miles. The distance in miles covered by one degree of longitude varies based on the latitude, and 80.9° longitude does not affect this latitude calculation.

The latitude and longitude for 46 degrees North latitude from the Prime Meridian are approximately 46 degrees North latitude, 0 degrees longitude. Moving to 21 degrees South, 35 degrees West would take you to approximately 21 degrees South latitude, 35 degrees West longitude. Continuing to 20 degrees South, 45 degrees West would position you at approximately 20 degrees South latitude, 45 degrees West longitude. Finally, moving to 20 degrees North would bring you around 20 degrees North latitude, along the same longitude as the previous location (45 degrees West).
Latitude: 21 degree north Longitude: 103 degree west
The latitude and longitude degree of Tunisia is 34°00'N & 9°00'E.

0 longitude is the prime meridian. 0 latitude is the equator.
For Latitude 130! and Longitude 150!
Degrees of longitude are uniform in length. 1 degree (Longitude) = 69.69 miles*Cos(Ө)(latitude) however the length of a degree of latitude depends on were you are on the planet. A degree of latitude at the equator is notable longer than, for example, a degree of latitude at the latitude of Toronto, Canada.
