8 divided by 2 does not equal 2 divided by 8. 8/2=4...2/8=0.25
9*8 = 72. You do not need the distributive property for such a basic multiplication.
the inverse property of addition
The Zero Property of Addition
The Commutative property.
2 plus 8 equals 8 plus 2 demonstrates the commutative property of addition
8+2*2 = 8+4 = 12while8*2 + 2*2 = 16+4 = 20So the property illustrated by the equation, as given in the question, is that of a FALSE statement.However,(8+2)*2 = 8*2 + 2*2 is the distributive property of multiplication over addition.
Well, 8+23+2 is addition, but I assume you mean what is the propery that makes 8+23+2, 2+23+8, and 23+8+2, etc., all equal the same thing, and that would be the associative property
As it appears the only thing it illustrates is the identity property ie anything is equal to itself. If there were brackets: (2 + 8 ) + 7 = 2 + (8 + 7) then that would illustrate the associative property of addition of numbers.
2 x 8=8 x 2
8 divided by 2 does not equal 2 divided by 8. 8/2=4...2/8=0.25
The property that multiplication is distributive over addition means that a*(b+c) = (a*b) + (a*c) The usufulness of this property can be illustrated by the following example: 8*(102) = 8*(100+2) = (8*100) + (8*2) = 800 + 16 = 816. So if you split 102 into 100 and 2, and then use the distributive property, you do not need to work with a large number such as 102.
2
23/8 * 4 = 2*4 + 3/8*4 (using the distributive property) = 8 + 3/2 = 91/2

(8 x 5) x 2 = 8 x (5 x 2)
2 + 8 = 8 + 23 x 6 = 6 x 3* * * * *No. That is the COMMUTATIVE property. The symmetric property is:x = y if and only if y = x.
