So the set could be, for example : (7, 13, 17, 20) and the arithmetic mean is thus 57/4 = 14.25.

If the answer is required as an integer then we would write 14.

The value 0.25 is effectively a remainder.

The same procudure could also apply to geometric and harmonic means.
