How many pounds is one and a half tons?

Assuming the question is 1 1/2 tons= __ pounds this is how you solve the problem: 1 ton= 2000 pounds. Right? Right. So obviously half a ton= 1000 pounds. Make sense? Good. If not, think of it like this. 2000 split in half is 1000 twice. Just like saying 2 is two 1's. So back to the problem. Now that you have the information 1 ton= 2000 pounds and 1/2 ton= 1000 pounds. What would you do? Well add of course! 1 1/2 tons= __ pounds. Lets look now at the 1 in 1 1/2 tons. That 1 would equal 2000 right? Right. And not lets look at the 1/2 in 1 1/2 tons. That would equal 1000 of course. As I've mentioned before. So now add 2000+1000 which i sure hope you know the answer to! 2000+1000=3000. So the problem 1 1/2 tons= __ pounds is basically asking 3000 tons= __ pounds. And since 2000 pounds= 1 ton. The answer would have to be 1. Because you are dividing 2000 into 3000. With 1000 left over. So the overall answer is 1 1/2 tons= 1 pound 1000 ounces left over. Hope this helped :)

How do you figure pound per foot?

The unit pounds per foot is a linear weight measurement, for a rod, tube, or beam of a known diameter or cross-section. Divide the total weight in pounds by the length of the sample.Much more useful is the unit pounds per square foot(related to psi, pounds per square inch), which gives either bearing weight or pressure for a known mass when distributed over a given area.
