0.7 =7/10. Dividing a number by 10 moves the decimal to the left one place. So 7.0 divided by 10 gives you 0.70. We usually just drop that last zero and write it as 0.7. Some people drop the first zero too, which is just .7. For example how would you write .17 as a fraction? If you said 17/100 ( divided by 10 twice to move the decimal twice) then you're a genius. If not, keep practicing. Notice that multiplying by 10 moves the decimal the opposite direction. 1.7 multiplied by 10 is 17.0, or just 17.
